{"id":2591,"date":"2013-09-01T02:53:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-01T01:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/colinmunrophotography.com\/blog\/?p=2591"},"modified":"2016-12-03T02:23:14","modified_gmt":"2016-12-03T02:23:14","slug":"light-and-shadow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colinmunrophotography.com\/blog\/light-and-shadow\/","title":{"rendered":"Light and shadow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a rule I don&#8217;t do standard portraits.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not that I have strong feelings against them, they have there place of course.\u00a0 It&#8217;s simply that they don&#8217;t interest me greatly.\u00a0 I have always preferred working with light and shadow.\u00a0 It&#8217;s about creating shapes and outlines, creating a certain atmosphere.\u00a0 This applies also to many of my landscape images but is particularly true of images of people.\u00a0 Simply put, images where the eye cannot see everything, and one must deduce what is there from a certain shape or pattern of light, are much more interesting to me.<\/p>\n<p>with landscapes I am particularly drawn to combining colour and shadow; or maybe I am drawn to sunrises and sunsets, which naturally means colour and shadow.\u00a0 We often think the quality of light is the same whether it is dawn of sunset.\u00a0 It is not.
